Our Medical Gowns

We offer two types of medical gowns:

  1. Isolation gowns: our waterproof protective gowns allow caregivers, patients, and visitors to protect their personal clothing from bodily fluids.
  2. Surgical gowns: protective gowns made of sterile materials worn by healthcare professionals while performing activities in a sterile environment.

The American National Standards Institute/Association of the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (ANSI/AAMI)  classify medical gowns as follows:

Health Canada gowns protection levels

Canadian Standards for Protective Gowns

These standards address certain characteristics of the materials used in the manufacture of gowns, such as tear resistance and seam strength, lint production and water vapour transmission. Health Canada accepts compliance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F2407 standard, a framework document that covers the following standards: Tensile Strength: ASTM D5034, ASTM D1682 Tear strength: ASTM D5587 (woven), ASTM D5587 (non-woven), ASTM D1424 Seam strength: ASTM D751 (stretch weave or stretch knit) Fluff production: ISO 9073 part 10 Water vapor transmission (breathability): ASTM F1868 Part B, ASTM D6701 (non-woven), ASTM D737-75
